CELEBRATING 33 YEARS
(1979--2012)
BAKER'S Bed and Breakfast

About the B&B...

SINCE 1979

Linda & Doug Baker - click for larger imageYear around hosts, Doug Baker and Linda Delgado Baker, welcome guests to their restored 1780 stone farmhouse located on 14 acres in the beautiful mid-Hudson region of New York State. Our views are of Shawangunk Mountains and rolling hills and fields. The house is furnished with period antiques, hand made quilts and much more.

Over the past 33 years, Baker's has been reviewed, used for photo shoots and/or our recipes have been published in The New York Times, USA Today, The Kingston Freeman, Huguenot Herald, Poughkeepsie Journal, About Town, The Chronogram, Glamour, Women's Day, Detail Magazine, Yankee Magazine, Conde Naste Traveler and TV's Good Morning America.

We serve a full breakfast which included fresh fruit, jams, jellies, freshly baked goods such as scones, croissants, muffins and special dishes such as Linda's goat cheese omelets and her home made granola. Doug's smoked meats and/or salmon and the all-time favorite, "Dutch babies".   Our organic garden to table approach provides fresh vegetables, herbs and fruits as ingredients for our breakfasts.   Guests love watching us pick their breakfasts ingredients from the garden.

Each morning we blend and grind our own coffee - a mix of Mocha Java and French Roast.   There is no need to find lunch after a breakfast at Baker's!

One of our guests, Sara Moulton from the Food Network and Executive Chef for Gourmet Magazine, wrote in our guest book "LOVELY PLACE, INCREDIBLE BREAKFAST!!". (Yes, she used capital letters....)  New York Magazine called us "sweet and simple....one of the best!

There is plenty to do in the area. Antiquing, the Wine Trail, the Pottery Trail and the Rail Trail for hiking and walking are prime activities. There also is excellent dining in the area. In New Paltz there is the delicious 36 Main, a Tavola and the Harvest Cafe. In the tiny town of Rosendale you'll find 3 of the best for great food, the Red Brick Tavern, the Rosendale Cafe and the new Twisted Foods! The eclectic Egg's Nest awaits in High Falls as does our latest microbrewery HopHeads! The Inn at Stone Ridge offers good food in a romantic setting . Our NYC guests have said Momiji in Stone Ridge is the best Japanese they've ever had! Accord offers deliciousness at Friends & Family at Hillside.

You'll find more information in your guest room including a brochure for the wonderful  One Body Spa. However, you may decide to just spend the afternoon birdwatching in the hammock for two under an old maple tree or reading by the fireplace. This is a smoke free home and we do not allow pets.

By popular demand, you can order Linda's Nutty Granola at bakersbandb@aol.com and please call about catering garden events.

We look forward to seeing you at Baker's!!
